To address the growing computational demands of diverse scenarios, Gooxi recently launched a new 4U 8-GPU AI server based on the AMD Milan platform. This server strikes an ideal balance between performance and cost while also delivering upgrades in flexibility, stability, and energy efficiency.
The Gooxi AMD Milan 4U 8-GPU AI Server is a 4U machine supporting two AMD Milan/Rome processors and eight dual-width GPU cards. Designed for applications such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, virtualization, big data analysis, and digital twins, it is a versatile, high-capacity, and highly reliable server. Additionally, it is one of the most cost-effective 4U 8-GPU solutions on the market today.
Thanks to the large core count and multi-threading capabilities of the AMD Milan platform, the Gooxi 4U 8-GPU AI Server doubles memory bandwidth and perfectly adapts to a wide range of AI acceleration cards via its PCIe Gen4 platform.
The server is also compatible with Rome processors, covering entry-level 16-core models to powerful 128-core options, making it adaptable to various performance and budget requirements. This makes it an all-around solution capable of handling tasks from basic operations to complex, data-intensive workloads, including graphics rendering, virtualization, and AI language model training.
One of the key advantages of AMD CPUs lies in their high core count and threading capabilities. Even third-generation AMD CPUs can rival Intel’s fourth-generation cores. This is crucial for an 8-GPU server that demands extensive PCIe lanes. The AMD EPYC 7003/7002 CPUs have ample PCIe lanes to meet the strict requirements of modern workloads, particularly for communication pathways.
The Gooxi AMD Milan 4U 8-GPU AI server offers 19*8 PCIe 4.0 MCIO lanes and 2 Slimline 4i lanes, allowing for direct connection of up to eight dual-width, full-height, full-length PCIe 4.0 x16 GPU cards. This leaves additional PCIe lanes for NVMe and OCP network cards, maximizing CPU-to-GPU bandwidth and minimizing communication latency, resulting in optimized performance.
It features 32 DDR4 memory slots with a maximum capacity of 8TB and supports up to 12 3.5"/2.5" SATA/SAS/U.2 drives for fast data transfer and storage.
NVIDIA Collective Communications Library (NCCL) is used to accelerate data transfer and communication across multiple GPUs. In this server, NCCL significantly improves GPU communication efficiency, which speeds up model training and reduces inference time for AI applications.
With AMD’s inherent cost advantages, the Gooxi AMD Milan 4U 8-GPU AI server stands out as one of the most cost-effective 4U 8-GPU solutions available today.
The server supports up to four power modules, offering 1600W to 3200W power with 80 PLUS Platinum efficiency (94%). It provides a range of power redundancy configurations (3+1 or 2+2) to handle different AI server load requirements while ensuring system stability.
Twelve 6056 RPM (23000±10%RPM) hot-swappable N+1 redundant fans ensure the machine operates stably, even in high ambient temperatures.
Remote management is made possible through a built-in BMC, enabling smart remote troubleshooting, intelligent fault isolation, and ensuring 24/7 reliable performance.
